Job Description The Investment Sales Officer I position is a client facing role with a focus on institutional client’s investment needs and objectives. The sales position markets and sells fixed income securities to institutional clients such as corporations, banks, credit unions, money managers and other entities with liquidity or investable portfolios. The sales officer is expected to provide market insights and investment ideas, that meet client’s liquidity, interest rate risk, and investment objectives. The sales role emphasizes building and maintaining strong internal partnerships and client relationships through a consultative, service-oriented approach. The sales officer maintains a strong understanding of market trends, as well as banking regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices, ensuring all activities adhere to internal controls and supervisory requirements. How You'll Spend Your Time You will develop customer relationships and work together to ensure appropriate investment strategies You will work to learn and understand products and prepare customer presentations of your data and research You will work with Investment/Sales Officers to establish customer security You will attend sales meetings and continued education Education & Experience Requirements This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years’ experience in fixed income securities sales or 7-8 years equivalent work experience; FINRA Series 52 (Municipal Securities Representative), Series 7 (General Securities) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent) licenses required. Working knowledge of fixed income capital markets, securities and liquidity products, current client facing technologies and offered portfolio accounting and analytics services and possess the ability to qualify specific customer needs, implement strategies, and offer products to meet the client’s investment objectives. Working knowledge of commercial bank products (balance sheet products) and services (treasury management) Basic knowledge of income tax and estate tax matters Basic knowledge of taxable and tax-exempt securities, money market funds and deposit products.
