Ink Room Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following. Other duties might be assigned: A member of the production support team of individuals who are multi-skilled and cross-trained on all required process equipment. In conjunction with Press and Coater crews, assist in performing quality and meeting manufacturing goals. Ensure timely ink, coating, adhesive and solvent availability for maximum efficiency of Press and Coater/Laminator. Prepare inks, coatings and adhesives for upcoming jobs including color match to standards prior to start-up. Be able to follow written recipes and formulation for preparing WETS for each finished goods. Manage required daily inventory control. Prepare WETS for upcoming jobs. Ensure all quality checks are taking place. Return WETS for finished jobs. Receive inks, coatings and solvents Prepare hazardous material for shipment. Maintain all parts in good condition. Perform appropriate PM on equipment. Operate forklift. Observe and make recommendations on all issues regarding safety, quality, and production. Perform daily and periodic cleaning in order to maintain the required 5-S standards throughout the manufacturing area. All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required. This job has no supervisory responsibilities EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. COMPUTER SKILLS Basic knowledge of computer software and functions.
