Join Corning’s Data Center Business Unit and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of innovative connectivity solutions that power the world's data infrastructure. What is your role? As a Quality Engineer, you will support product and process quality across Data Center products and manufacturing operations. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, NPI, and Customer-facing teams to investigate quality issues, drive corrective actions, and strengthen quality systems. This position offers the opportunity to influence product integrity, manufacturing excellence, and customer satisfaction through data-driven decision making and structured problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Support investigations of quality incidents, including containment activities, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Develop and maintain quality tools such as Control Plans, Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements, risk assessments, and process controls. Participate in process capability studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and manufacturing process evaluations. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including qualification builds, readiness reviews, and risk mitigation strategies. Analyze quality performance metrics, customer feedback, audit findings, and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen product and process quality. Support customer quality inquiries and participate in internal and external quality audits. Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 2–3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or a related engineering discipline. Working knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis methodologies, and corrective/preventive action processes. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in manufacturing or technical environments. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings effectively. Conversational English required. Availability to travel globally (30–50%) based on business needs and customer support requirements. Experiences/Education - Desired Experience with data center, high-reliability, telecommunications, or connectivity products. Exposure to Six Sigma, Green Belt training, or structured problem-solving methodologies. Familiarity with ISO 9001, TL9000, or other quality management systems. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
