Scopely is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Unity) to join our WWE Champions team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis! WWE Champions is the most downloaded WWE game to date, with a highly engaged and passionate community. Role Summary As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the games Unity client across a large live-service mobile game codebase. You will contribute to high-impact initiatives spanning gameplay systems, live-ops features, client infrastructure, performance, build reliability, platform integrations, and maintainability. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong technical execution with sound architectural judgment in a complex production environment. What Youll Do - Design, build, and maintain major client systems across gameplay, UI, live events, progression, offers, social features, and platform services. - Contribute to the architecture of a large Unity/C# codebase with an emphasis on modularity, testability, performance, and long-term maintainability. - Implement and support data-driven and live-ops systems, including event configuration, feature flags, localization, and content delivered through structured data pipelines such as FlatBuffers. - Partner closely with design, product, QA, analytics, economy, backend, and live-ops stakeholders to deliver scalable client solutions aligned with roadmap and operational needs. - Improve engineering effectiveness through strong coding practices, tooling, CI/build processes, code reviews, debugging workflows, and technical documentation. - Investigate and resolve production issues across mobile client systems, platform integrations, monetization flows, and live event features. - Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contribute to team technical decisions, and help raise the overall quality bar for the engineering organization. What Were Looking For Experience & Technical Skills - 5 years of skilled software engineering experience, including experience on production game clients or similarly complex interactive applications. - Strong expertise in C# and object-oriented software design. - Solid experience with Unity in production environments, ideally on mobile live-service titles. - Experience building and maintaining client systems for gameplay, UI, event systems, or data-driven feature development. - Experience with mobile platform considerations for iOS and Android, including integrations, performance tuning, memory management, and release readiness. - Understanding of client-side data pipelines, remote content/configuration, serialization, and schema-driven systems. - Experience working with build automation, CI/CD workflows, and release pipelines for mobile games. - Strong debugging and profiling skills across runtime behavior, performance, memory, and production stability. - Familiarity with testing strategies and quality practices in medium to large codebases. Cross-Functional and Game-Specific Knowledge - Familiarity with live-service game development, including progression systems, offers/monetization, event systems, social features, and analytics. - Experience partnering with backend and live-ops teams to support content updates and feature rollouts. - Ability to make thoughtful technical tradeoffs in a content-heavy, operationally active game environment. - Comfort working across teams and contributing to initiatives with multiple dependencies. Soft Skills & Education - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Demonstrated mentorship and knowledge-sharing ability. - High ownership, sound judgment, and a practical approach to solving complex technical problems. - Passion for games and for building stable, maintainable systems that support great player experiences.
