Functional Business Analyst Insurance & Reinsurance

Role: Functional Business Analyst Domain: Insurance & Reinsurance (Specialty) Location: Pan India Business Unit: DNAINS Compensation: Competitive (including bonus) Job Description We are looking for a Functional Business Analyst with strong experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance (Specialty) domain. The ideal candidate should be able to work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs, analyze requirements, and translate them into clear functional specifications. The candidate will act as a bridge between business and delivery teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured and aligned with organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Owners, business users, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.Conduct requirement elicitation workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process discussions.Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirement documents (FRDs), business requirement documents (BRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.Analyze and document existing ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") business processes.Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development/testing teams.Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirement clarification sessions.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating business validation, and obtaining stakeholder sign-off.Assist in change management, impact analysis, and business process improvements.Ensure all functional documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.Required Skills Strong experience in Business Analysis and Requirement Gathering.Good understanding of the Insurance and Reinsurance (Specialty) domain.Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.Ability to understand business processes and recommend process improvements.Experience working with Product Owners and business stakeholders.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Preferred Skills Experience in policy administration, underwriting, claims, or reinsurance processes.Knowledge of Agile methodologies.Experience supporting UAT and business process documentation.Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence is an advantage. .
