Through our recruitment, career development and employee-focused programming, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment where high-performance talent of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives can build careers within this exciting and growing industry. Job Description Ares is seeking a curious, hands-on Full Stack Developer at the Analyst level to join our Legal & Compliance Technology engineering team in Mumbai. You will work with experienced engineers and global business partners to build, enhance, and support applications that help our Legal & Compliance teams manage critical workflows, monitoring, controls, and reporting. This is an opportunity for an early-career engineer to deepen full-stack development skills, learn how technology supports the investment lifecycle and regulated business processes, and take increasing ownership of production software. You will contribute across user interfaces, services, integrations, and data while learning through design discussions, code reviews, and day-to-day collaboration. Prior experience in financial services or compliance is helpful, but not required. We are most interested in strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to turn requirements into reliable, well-tested software. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Build and enhance full-stack application features, from intuitive user interfaces to backend services, APIs, and data access. - Partner with business analysts, product partners, and engineers to understand requirements, break work into clear user stories, and deliver incremental solutions with well-defined acceptance criteria. - Develop and support integrations with investment and enterprise systems using REST APIs, services, batch processing, and messaging or event patterns where appropriate. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate actively in code reviews and apply standards for security, performance, resiliency, logging, and operational supportability. - Use SQL to analyze data, validate results, troubleshoot workflows, and support data quality and reconciliation activities. - Contribute to solutions for compliance monitoring, controls, exceptions, approvals, attestations, AML/KYC, and regulatory reporting, with guidance from domain and engineering partners. - Gain exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks and case-management or low-code platforms such as Pega as relevant to team priorities. - Support releases and production stability by monitoring applications, investigating issues, documenting root causes, and improving automated checks and operational runbooks. - Explore responsible uses of AI-enabled automation and agentic workflows under guidance, with appropriate attention to security, traceability, and human oversight. - Communicate progress, questions, and risks proactively while collaborating with colleagues in Mumbai, Current York, and other global locations. Qualification: Experience Required: - 1-3 years of professional software development experience building, testing, and supporting applications. - Strong foundations in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, clean-code practices, debugging, and problem solving. - Hands-on development experience in at least one backend language such as Java, C#, or Python, together with web development using JavaScript or TypeScript. - Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a modern component-based frontend framework such as React, Angular, Vue, or an equivalent technology. - Working proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts, including joins, data validation, and troubleshooting. - Familiarity with modern development practices such as Git-based version control, code reviews, unit or integration testing, and CI/CD concepts. - Clear written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working in a global team. - Bachelor's degree required; Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. - Ability to collaborate across time zones, including reasonable overlap with U.S. colleagues when needed for team meetings, releases, or production support. What Will Help You Stand Out: The following are advantages, not a checklist. We encourage candidates who meet the core requirements and are excited to learn to apply. - A portfolio, academic project, internship, open-source contribution, or other example that demonstrates end-to-end application development. - Exposure to REST services, microservices, batch processing, integration patterns, or messaging and event-driven architectures. - Experience with cloud or modern data .

That number includes positions in India (9,577), Poland (3,429), the United States (1,753), Singapore (787), and Brazil (779). If you're looking to move or work remotely, check which countries match your goals — then filter WorkMundi by location to see what's actually hiring near you.

Most developer ads you'll see are written in English: 18,397 of the 24,795. That doesn't tell you whether the job itself requires you to speak English or work in English daily, so read each posting carefully. Don't assume the language of the ad matches the language of the team.

The employers posting the most developer roles are Link Group (369 jobs), Upvanta (257), jobgether (226), and OfferZen (212). If you're applying to any of these, research their hiring patterns. They move fast and post often, which means they're either scaling hard or replacing people who didn't fit.

In your interview, expect this: 'Walk me through the last time you had to debug something that took you more than an hour. What was it, what did you try first, and what would you do differently?' Hiring managers ask this to see if you think systematically or just try random fixes. Have a real example ready with specifics.
