Overview Verantos (https://verantos.com) is the market leader in high-accuracy real-world evidence (RWE) generation. The Verantos RWE platform integrates heterogeneous real-world data sources and generates evidence with the accuracy necessary for regulatory and reimbursement use. The platform leverages data science and artificial intelligence, along with advanced data sources such as electronic health records (EHR), to generate RWE capable of supporting complex clinical studies. Some of the largest biopharma companies in the world are Verantos customers. We use a heterogeneous AWS-centric tech stack with data processing, AI, workflows, and analytics. Our teams are cross-functional and collaborative, bringing together engineering, product, design, QA, and clinical domain experts to deliver meaningful, real-world impact. Description We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps team. You'll own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and work closely with engineering, security, and business stakeholders across multiple geographies. This role is as much about people leadership as it is technical depth. We need someone who has already built and led high-performing infrastructure teams someone comfortable setting direction, developing engineers, managing cross-geography stakeholders, and communicating clearly with leadership. Responsibilities Manage and lead an engineering team building and operating our platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and site reliability functions. Provide technical oversight, architectural direction, and code/design reviews while maintaining the team's technical standards. Take responsibility for the professional development of their direct reports Own core cloud platform reliability and disaster recovery, while empowering application teams with the tools, observability, and operational standards needed to own their service health. Keep cost efficiency in mind when making infrastructure decisions. Partner with stakeholders across geographies and time zones to align on priorities, timelines, and trade-offs. Set monitoring and observability standards using telemetry tools to proactively surface and resolve issues. Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual toil and improve system reliability. Oversee design and management of CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, frequent software delivery. Maintain team-wide compliance with industry security standards, including HITRUST and SOC 2. Qualifications 8 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering, including 3 years in a formal people management role. Experience managing distributed or remote teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies. Strong hands-on experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP in a production environment and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform In-depth knowledge of container orchestration, such as Kubernetes, Helm, ECS. Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelementry or ELK stack. Experience designing CI/CD pipeline, e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD. Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, ALB, DNS), IAM access controls, secrets management. Proficient in Python, bash scripting for task automation and platform tooling Experience integrating security practices into the development lifecycle. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences. Bachelor's degree in CS, ECE, or equivalent practical experience. Nice to have Experience with healthcare data infrastructure or compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or HITRUST. Familiarity with AI-first systems or prior experience supporting AI-based workloads.
