Role Description The Desktop/Laptop Support Engineers L1 role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves providing first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, and related hardware, including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving hardware and operating system issues, handling software installations and updates, and ensuring systems comply with internal standards. The engineer will respond to support tickets, document incidents, and maintain clear communication with users to ensure timely resolution and a positive support experience. The role also includes coordinating with higher-level support or vendors when needed and assisting with asset tracking and inventory management. Qualifications Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for desktop and laptop hardware and software.Experience in Customer Support and Customer Service, with a focus on clear communication and user satisfaction.Working knowledge of common Operating Systems (such as Windows, Linux, or macOS) and basic network connectivity.Ability to document issues, solutions, and procedures accurately and follow standard support workflows.Relevant diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalent are an advantage.Willingness to work on-site in Chennai, manage multiple support requests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Prior experience in IT infrastructure or educational institution environments is beneficial. .
