Overview:The OPD (Outpatient Department) Executive plays a crucial role in the healthcare organization, ensuring the smooth functioning of outpatient services. This role involves managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service to patients visiting the OPD. The OPD Executive is responsible for maintaining patient records, coordinating with medical staff, and ensuring a positive experience for patients.Key Responsibilities:Manage and schedule patient appointments in the outpatient departmentHandle patient inquiries and provide information about OPD servicesEnsure efficient coordination between patients, doctors, and medical staffCoordinate with insurance providers for pre-authorization and claims processingExecute administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record managementAssist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the OPD waiting areaResolve patient complaints and issues in a professional and empathetic mannerCollaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient careAdhere to established medical and ethical standardsAssist in monitoring and ordering OPD suppliesParticipate in training and orientation of new staff membersContribute to the development and implementation of OPD process improvementsEnsure compliance with healthcare regulations and standardsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or relevant fieldPrior experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare settingProficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systemsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesUnderstanding of medical terminology and healthcare processesAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelyKnowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processesAttention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keepingAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environmentEmpathetic and courteous attitude towards patients and their familiesFamiliarity with medical billing and coding processes (CPT and ICD-10 codes)Capability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectivelyBasic understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements .
