Job Description: An SCM Head for a steel company (as detailed in roles like oversees end-to-end procurement, logistics, and inventory for raw materials (iron ore, coal) and finished steel, focusing on cost-effective, uninterrupted production. Key responsibilities include strategic sourcing, vendor management, and optimizing supply chain efficiencies, typically requiring 12-18+ years of experience. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Oversee procurement of ferrous/non-ferrous materials, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with suppliers. Logistics & Distribution: Manage end-to-end logistics, including raw material inward and finished goods dispatch, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. Inventory Optimization: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, manage warehouse operations, and align with production schedules. Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability. Leadership & Technology: Lead the supply chain team, implement ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: 15+ years in SCM, with strong experience in steel procurement, manufacturing, or heavy fabrication. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of steel procurement, machining processes, and logistical systems. Leadership: Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills to manage diverse teams.
