We are seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager - Operations to lead our pharmaceutical-grade PVC manufacturing operations. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the entire plant lifecyclefrom extrusion and calendaring to quality control, supply chain, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of rigid and flexible PVC film/blister packaging manufacturing within a heavily regulated pharmaceutical environment (cGMP, FDA, ISO). You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maximizing production efficiency, ensuring stringent quality standards, and scaling plant capabilities to meet business growth. Key Responsibilities 1. Plant Operations & Production Management Direct and oversee all manufacturing operations, including PVC compounding, calendaring, extrusion, slitting, and packaging lines. Develop and execute the annual operational plan and budget to meet business goals for volume, cost, and delivery. Optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), minimize downtime, and reduce scrap/waste rates through continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S). Drive capacity planning to ensure timely execution of customer orders while maintaining optimal inventory levels. 2. Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Standards Ensure all manufacturing processes strictly adhere to pharmaceutical packaging standards (e.g., ISO 15378, cGMP, FDA regulations, and pharmacopeial requirements). Oversee rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) protocols for raw materials, in-process goods, and finished PVC films (e.g., Blister PVC, PVC/PVDC, Cold Form Foil). Lead root-cause analysis for any quality deviations, customer complaints, or audit findings, implementing robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Maintain complete audit readiness for regulatory bodies, client audits, and ISO certifications. 3. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Foster a proactive safety culture to ensure zero-harm operations, complying fully with environmental, health, and safety laws. Oversee safe handling, storage, and processing protocols for PVC resins, plasticizers, stabilizers, and other chemical additives. Ensure proper pollution control, waste management, and effluent treatment practices are strictly enforced within the facility. 4. Supply Chain, Procurement & Maintenance Collaborate with procurement to source high-grade raw materials (PVC suspension/emulsion resins, additives) at optimal costs without compromising quality. Oversee the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for heavy machinery (extruders, calenders, winders, slitting machines) to prolong asset lifespan and prevent unplanned shutdowns. Manage logistics and dispatch operations to ensure secure, damage-free, and on-time delivery to pharmaceutical clients. 5. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and evaluate department heads across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and HR. Build high-performing cross-functional teams through structured training programs, skill-matrix mapping, and performance management. Foster strong employee relations and a collaborative work culture on the shop floor. Experience: Minimum 12 to 18 years of progressive operational leadership experience. At least 57 years in a senior plant leadership role (Plant Head / GM Operations) specifically within Pharma PVC packaging film manufacturing (Rigid PVC, PVC/PVDC, or Blister pack films). Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in polymer extrusion technology, calendaring processes, and thermoforming plastic properties. Thorough working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory standards (ISO 15378, USFDA, cGMP). Core Competencies: Strong financial acumen (P&L management), advanced problem-solving skills (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred), and exceptional leadership abilities.
