Head Underwriting Vice President Gurugram (India)

The role holder will lead the underwriting, Reinsurance and medical management team to ensure greater underwriting effectiveness, and improve customer experience. This includes maximizing the protective value of underwriting, reduce volatility of the claims experience and create a sustainable and profitable operating model. The Jobholder will work closely with the Director - Operations & Customer Service in formulating policy, serving and Underwriting standards to assess current business within acceptable risks. He/she will also have the overall responsibility for strengthening the business areas commercial operations through awareness of the market conditions. The role holder will be required to design Guidelines for an effective and productive underwriting and to ensure that Life Insurance venture provides professional underwriting service to its clients and maintain healthy levels of profitability, growth and development. The role holder will also be required to support automation in department, support product design and create underwriting guidelines for current products and group guidelines. Key responsibility areas: Governance of Underwriting and Claims for life and health insurance Develop and implement underwriting and claims principles, guidelines and standards Provides deep technical leadership on product development, medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting and claims adjudication Continuously contributes to development of the organization's Underwriting and Claims philosophies by monitoring emerging trends and best practices Recommends and implements changes to the underwriting , Risk assessment and claims philosophies, methodologies, practices, processes, and technologies Ensures Underwriting and Claims leaders maintain up to date required underwriting and claims knowledge and skills Govern the performance of Third Party Administrator to ensure SLAs are met; Analyse Underwriting practice, including product and underwriting effectivenes .
