Job Requirements Own the functional, performance and scalability of data plane rich with data management Own features through the entire software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences. Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices. Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions. Effectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization. Contribute to the technical growth of the team through knowledge sharing, code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship opportunities. Education 12+ years of experience in software/systems engineering. 5+ years of experience in data management systems & storage platforms for managing and storing data across various workloads and environments. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
