Hedge fund services- Associate consultant Founded in Chicago in 1889, Northern Trust is one of the worlds leading financial institutions. We specialise in providing asset servicing solutions and asset management to both institutional and personal clients. The delivery of products and services to this client base is supported through a network of offices around the globe. Role The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This individual will have a strong Technical and Accounting background, experience working within the Financial Services industry. This position involves working with Investor Accounting team. Major Duties Production and Review of monthly/quarterly funds and business entity closing summaries for Fund AdministratorPreparation and Review of investor allocation/PnL distribution to the investorsCalculation and Review of Incentive Fee and Management FeeWorking on Hedge funds and private equitiesInvestor statements preparation and distributionKnowledge of financial products like, Equity, Derivative instruments, IPO, etc.Interact with clients and other Hedge Fund Administrator teams to obtain informationPrepare financial highlights and shareholders statements on quarterly/annual basis.Acting as a subject matter expert for the teamHelping team members in resolving their queries and issuesPrepare training materials and conducting/taking lead in training for existing and new team members Escalate issues that fall outside normal resolution timeframeConsistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the use of technology ACCountabilities Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above roleEmployees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas, the incumbent is responsible for, are organised and controlledEmployees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of dutiesReports to TL/ Section Manager Skills Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environmentStrong knowledge of Financial products like Equity, Derivatives, TRS, REPO, etc.,Strong knowledge in preparation of Financial statementsStrong problem solving skills, detailed and results oriented.Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervisionExcellent spoken and written English and the ability to write Business correspondenceProficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional mannerAbility to work effectively with project teams and clientsDemonstrate high ethical standardsTime management skills Qualifications Bachelors degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plusA minimum of 4-6 years of Accounting experience (Associate)Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferredExperience of Investor accounting will be an added advantageExcellent English, grammar, written and oral communication skillsAdaptive, flexible style with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Working with Us As a Northern Trust partner, you will be part of a flexible and collaborative work culture, which has a strong history of financial strength and stability.
