Job DescriptionJob Purpose (Job Summary): The Senior Principal Application Architect within Enterprise Architecture will lead the development of architecture blueprints and support Solution Architects in their work. They will work with technology and business partners to develop strategies, multi-year roadmaps, reference architecture, patterns and standards that support business domains. They will work with Solution Architects to define targetstate architectures that enable scale, resilience and data integrity while ensuring alignment to long-term enterprise strategy. Additionally, the Enterprise Architect acts as a thought leader and mentor, advancing architectural maturity across the business domain and ensuring alignment between business strategy, technology investment, and enterprise outcomes. Key Responsibilities / Duties: Develop and coordinate EA engagement across application architecture domains including Investments, Distribution and CorporateBuild and maintain application architecture strategies, reference architectures and architecture roadmapsEstablish application architecture patterns and standards for web applications, batch applications, event driven architecture, serverless application, containerized applications, domain APIs and microservicesReview and approve architecture solutions via EA governance to ensure strategic alignment, avoidance of tech debt and alignment to architecture principlesSupport the solution architecture communityCollaborate with domain solution architects and the cloud team on cloud application migration strategyHands-on support for PoCs to evaluate new technologies and usage patternsWork Experience / Knowledge: Respected experience in an architecture role, supporting application architecture in sophisticated enterprise environmentsExperience with application design and development on one or more cloud platformsExperience with drafting and institutionalizing architecture patterns and architecture standardsGood business understanding of financial services, distribution, and asset managementProficient with architecture modeling using industry standard notation languages (Archimate)Experience with software application development in multiple programming languages and technology platformsExperience with the design and development of APIsExperience with DevSecOps technologies, processes, and practicesSkills / Other Personal Attributes Required: Ability to multi-task and prioritize.Ability to see the big picture, thinking and acting strategicallyStrong influence skills both directly and indirectly of individuals across the firm to embrace enterprise architecture standards and recommendationsAbility to work independently; self-starter/self-motivatedExcellent relationship leadership skills with the ability to act with influence and build consensusExcellent communication skills both verbal and written.High-energy, confident professional with an ability to remain calm and take control in a crisis.Valued team mate, leader and organizer.Fully capable to diagnose and solve problems while maintaining integrity and courtesy.Open minded, flexible, and willing to listen for other peoples opinions.Adapts and leads to changing demands and conditionsWilling to keep up to date and scale skills and knowledge base, as well as mentor others.Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems or related field or equivalent demonstrated experience.License / Registration / Certification: Preferred Certified TOGAFPreferred Vendor Certifications from AWS or Microsoft AzureFull Time / Part TimeFull timeWorker TypeEmployeeJob Exempt (Yes / No)YesWorkplace Model At Invesco, our workplace model supports our culture and meets the needs of our clients while providing flexibility our employees value.
