ServiceNow Tester

Responsibilities ServiceNow Functional Testing Analyze requirements and design functional test cases for ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, CMDB, etc.) Execute manual and exploratory tests on ServiceNow forms, workflows, UI actions, Service Catalog items, and business rules Validate data migration, import sets, transforms, and data integrity Perform upgrade testing to ensure customizations continue to work postServiceNow upgrades Automation & Test Framework Develop and maintain automated test scripts using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) or equivalent tools (Selenium, TestNG & Playwright) Automate UI, API, and end-to-end business workflows on the ServiceNow platform Create reusable test libraries, fixtures, and accelerators for ATF and external test frameworks Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps) API & Integration Testing Design and execute REST/SOAP API test cases for ServiceNow integrations with external systemsValidate API contracts, authentication, authorization, payloads, error handling, and performancePerform end-to-end integration testing across microservices, middleware, and third-party services Performance, Security & Compliance Conduct performance testing on critical ServiceNow processes and pages using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunnerValidate access controls, ACLs, encryption, and security configurations in line with corporate policiesParticipate in vulnerability scans and assist with remediation verification Quality Engineering Practices Employ shift-left testing by engaging in requirement reviews, design discussions, and early defect preventionDefine quality metrics and gates for each sprint or releaseTrack and report testing progress, defects, risks, and coverage to stakeholdersContribute to continuous improvement of QE best practices, standards, and playbooks Collaboration & Communication Work closely with Product Owners, ServiceNow Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteriaFacilitate defect triage sessions and support root-cause analysisMentor junior testers and share knowledge of ServiceNow testing techniquesEnsure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects Qualifications Experience 38 years in software testing, with at least 2 years focused on ServiceNow testingProven track record testing ServiceNow implementations, custom apps, and upgrades Technical Skills Strong expertise in ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)Hands-on experience with ServiceNow UI, workflows, form configurations, business rules, and client/server scripting (JavaScript)Proficient in REST/SOAP API testing (Postman, SoapUI, or similar)Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations (MID Server, IntegrationHub, web services)Experience with data migration tools and strategies (Import Sets, Transform Maps)Working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git)Good understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practicesTest management experience with tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Azure Test Plans Preferred Skills ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CSDM, etc.)ISTQB or equivalent software testing certificationExposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)Familiarity with ServiceNow Security Operations or Virtual AgentBasic scripting in PowerShell, Python, or TypeScript Education / Professional qualifications Bachelors/ Masters degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university. .
