This role involves building forecasts, financial models, and dashboards while ensuring the accuracy and automation of financial systems.ResponsibilitiesPrepare budgets, driver-based forecasts, cash-flow models, and scenario analysesAnalyze performance against budget, forecast, and prior periodsIdentify the primary drivers of revenue, expenses, margins, and cash flowSupport pricing, hiring, investment, and operational decisionsTranslate financial results into clear recommendations for managementDevelop KPIs and performance metrics to monitor business healthBuild management reports, scorecards, executive dashboards, and board-ready materialsCreate branded, visually polished reporting that is easy to navigate and understandApply strong judgment around layout, hierarchy, labeling, chart selection, and visual consistencySurface the metrics, trends, and exceptions that require management attentionMake complex financial and operational information clear and actionableExtract, clean, reconcile, and analyze data from HubSpot, Stripe, QuickBooks Online, payroll systems, and other sourcesWork confidently with CSV exports, transaction-level data, customer records, pipelines, subscription activity, refunds, and processing feesInvestigate discrepancies and validate source data before it is used in reportingBuild and maintain automated connections between client systems, financial models, and dashboardsOwn formulas, data structures, and reporting logic so dashboards refresh reliably without manual rebuildingLeverage AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to build formulas, troubleshoot spreadsheets, document processes, and automate repetitive workContinuously identify opportunities to improve data quality and eliminate manual steps through automation and AIPresent findings clearly to founders, executives, and non-finance stakeholdersHelp clients define the financial and operational metrics that matter mostWork closely with Skylight's partner and senior management teamManage multiple client priorities, deliverables, and deadlinesProvide guidance and review support to analysts when appropriateBuild trusted relationships through clear communication, sound judgment, and consistent follow-throughSkillsFive or more years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, management reporting, accounting, or a related fieldAdvanced financial modeling skills, including budgeting, driver-based forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and long-range financial planningExperience working with CRM, payment, or subscription platforms (such as HubSpot, Stripe, or similar)Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skillsExperience cleaning, reconciling, and analyzing large or imperfect data setsStrong understanding of financial statements and business-performance metricsExperience creating executive dashboards, management reports, or board materialsStrong visual judgment and an eye for design, branding, and readabilityComfort using AI tools to build models, troubleshoot spreadsheets, and improve reporting workflowsExperience working with APIs or data connectors is a plusClear written and verbal communication skillsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting US-based clientsCPA, CMA, or similar certificationExperience in consulting, outsourced finance, or another client-service environmentFamiliarity with QuickBooks Online, Coefficient, Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or similar toolsExperience with SaaS, subscription, e-commerce, healthcare, or professional-services businessesFamiliarity with metrics such as MRR, ARR, churn, conversion rates, pipeline performance, payment volume, refunds, and processing feesExperience building reporting systems that combine accounting, sales, customer, and operational dataCompany OverviewSkylight Financial, Inc. is a professional services firm, offering accounting and advisory solutions for organizations large and small.
