Summary of the role: We are looking for an experienced Sr Release Engineer, who loves retail and has a passion for delivering best-in-class experiences for consumers alongside a passion for empowering engineering teams to deliver value to their customers rapidly and reliably. About the role: As a Sr Release Engineer, you'll be the conductor orchestrating the entire release management lifecycle for our e-commerce and retail store software. You will contribute to our transition to automated and AI-led software delivery in a Release Orchestration model. Your mission is to ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality releases across the enterprise. You'll be at the helm, coordinating application updates, security improvements, hardware upgrades, and more. Your role is pivotal in collaborating with developers, testers, and IT management to enhance our software engineering processes and practices, all while embodying the spirit of innovation and creativity that defines our denim lifestyle. Key Responsibiliti****es: - AI-assisted Software Deliveries: Levis is a frontrunner in AI-assisted engineering, and you will contribute to our release model transition to automated and AI-enabled releases for our systems. - Release Planning and Coordination: You'll be the go-to person for coordinating release content and efforts across multiple teams and systems, ensuring everything aligns with the enterprise-wide deliveries of software to our internal and external customers - Release Management: You'll manage risks, resolve issues, and keep a close eye on progress to ensure releases are on time, within budget, and meet or exceed expectations. Youll research and implement industry-leading software release tools and systems. In growing our capabilities to deliver better software faster, youll make a direct impact on our business capacity to thrill our fans. - Continuous Improvement: Youll work with our teams to mature the system towards Continuous Deployment and Continuous Delivery, develop scripts and automation tools, and ensure seamless integration and deployment of software releases. As you lead improvement in our release processes, youll make direct impacts on our entire technology organizations capability to deliver value at scale. - Collaboration and Teamwork: Youll be a visible and valuable member of the teams delivering software to our customers. Actively participate in CAB meetings, release planning meetings, maintain a release repository, and manage key information like build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists. Mentor development squads to support squad-led releases to increase the flow of ideas to our customers. - Career and Team Development: Youll stay ahead of the curve by researching and implementing industry-leading release and configuration management methodologies, tools and technologies, and apply them to our current needs. Youll coach and enable our development squads and business teams to release their software and experiments to discover better ways to serve our internal and external customers. About you: - 10+ years experience as a Release Engineer, project management or release management - Demonstrated experience with Airtable, ServiceNow and SharePoint with a strong desire to grow your skills and capabilities - Demonstrated exportation of the use of GenAI and Agentic AI to understand and improve on our system and platform capabilities - Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools. - Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle in Agile, Devops and Lean Software environments - Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion - Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills. - Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
