Proxmox VE Expert / Senior Virtualization Engineer Mumbai Location: Mumbai, India (On-site / Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-time, Office Location About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) Expert to join our Mumbai team. You will take ownership of our existing Proxmox infrastructure, diagnose and resolve current configuration issues, and establish robust, production-grade best practices across virtualization, backup, and security layers. Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, remediate, and optimize our current Proxmox VE 9.x cluster configurationDesign, implement, and maintain highly available Proxmox VE 9.x environmentsConfigure, manage, and optimize Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) for reliable, efficient backups and restoresDesign and enforce Proxmox Firewall rulesets, network isolation, and security policiesPerform capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive monitoringDocument architecture, procedures, and runbooksProvide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to the internal teamSupport disaster recovery planning and testing Required Skills & ExperienceExtensive hands-on experience with Proxmox VE 9.x (mandatory)Strong practical expertise with Proxmox Backup Server (PBS)Proven experience configuring and managing Proxmox FirewallDeep understanding of Proxmox clustering, Ceph/ZFS storage, high availability, and networkingSolid Linux systems administration skills (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)Experience troubleshooting complex virtualization and networking issuesAbility to work independently and deliver clear technical documentation Preferred QualificationsExperience with Proxmox VE upgrades, migrations, and large-scale deploymentsFamiliarity with related technologies (Ceph, ZFS, SDN, Terraform/Ansible automation)Previous experience supporting production environments in enterprise or mid-size organizations What We OfferCompetitive salary packageOpportunity to take full technical ownership of a critical infrastructure platformCollaborative team environment in our Mumbai office If you have deep, practical expertise in Proxmox VE 9.x, Proxmox Backup Server, and Proxmox Firewall and enjoy solving complex virtualization challenges, we would like to hear from you.
