As cloud engineer, utilizes knowledge of software, systems and platform engineering to designed, develop and implement cloud-based solutions, in accordance with best practices and Cisco's security standards and policies. Designs cloud architecture, combining technologies to create optimal solutions for Cisco, and completes plans and specifications to develop solutions. Collaborates with product managers, engineers and security teams to develop specifications for new cloud-based products/services, applications and solutions, and identify opportunities to optimize security. Drives the roll-out of public and private cloud management platforms, evaluates its performance and implements enhancements. Your Impact: Manage day-to-day incidents and operations across infrastructure and applications Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and resolve factory impacting Platform issues/defects, and application impacts Network Infrastructure Support VPN based tunnel monitoring, Network device management provisioning and upgrades of Network devices, terminal console servers, provide patch diagrams and VLAN configurations Plan monitoring/logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability, performance and proactive incident detection Understand the Security compliance requirements and evolve playbooks and patch strategies Manage Kubernetes clusters on BareMetal nodes Develop, Configure, integrate opensource platform management components, repo management, gitOps tools, automation scripts, deployment and validations scripts and CICD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and reduce manual operational overhead. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
