Job Title: Import Manager International Logistics & Trade Compliance Location: Chennai Experience: 812 Years (Minimum 5 years in Electronics/Consumer Durables Import is Mandatory) Industry: Electronics Manufacturing / Consumer Durables / EMS / Technology Distribution We are looking for an experienced Import Manager to lead end-to-end international import operations, customs clearance, and trade compliance for imports primarily from China. The ideal candidate should have robust expertise in customs regulations, freight management, import documentation, and electronics-specific regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end import operations from supplier shipment to warehouse delivery. Handle customs clearance through CHAs and ensure timely cargo release. Ensure compliance with BIS, WPC, EPR, DG Handling, Foreign Trade Policy, and Customs regulations. Classify products using HS Codes and leverage applicable FTAs for duty optimization. Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHAs, and overseas suppliers. Monitor shipments from Shenzhen, Shanghai, Zhuhai, Qingdao, Busan, Xiamen, Ningbo, Tianjin, Singapore, etc. Negotiate freight rates, SLAs, and logistics contracts. Minimize demurrage and detention by implementing pre-clearance strategies. Perform landed cost analysis and validate freight, CHA, duty, and logistics invoices. Manage marine insurance and cargo damage/loss claims. Drive logistics cost optimization while maintaining compliance.
