Job Title - Warehouse Manager - Defence manufacturing Location: Kanpur, UP Department: Supply Chain Management (SCM) Function: Operations Warehouse Age: Less than 35 years old About the Role We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead end-to-end warehouse operations for our Defence & Aerospace manufacturing facility in Kanpur. The role is responsible for inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, material movement, team leadership, process optimization, and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, ERP/MRP systems, and team management within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Manage overall warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and material handling. Ensure inventory accuracy through regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation with ERP/MRP systems. Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock availability to support production requirements. Lead, train, and supervise warehouse teams to ensure high productivity and adherence to operational standards. Implement and maintain 5S, safety, and warehouse housekeeping practices. Coordinate with procurement, production, logistics, and transportation teams for seamless inbound and outbound material movement. Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize warehouse space utilization. Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety regulations. Generate MIS reports, analyze warehouse performance metrics, and recommend corrective actions where required. Manage warehouse budgets, monitor expenditures, and control operational costs. Maintain warehouse infrastructure, equipment, and storage facilities in good working condition. Educational Qualification Must Have: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management. Preferred: Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Certifications in Supply Chain, Warehousing, or Logistics Management will be an added advantage. Experience Requirements Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in Warehouse, Inventory, Logistics, or Supply Chain Operations within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of inventory management practices, warehouse processes, and material handling systems. Experience in stock control, inventory audits, and warehouse performance management. Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Engineering, or Heavy Manufacturing industries. Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
