About the Role We are looking for a skilled DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join our team and help shape the foundation of Rover's core infrastructure. In this role, you will be instrumental in automating and scaling our environments to ensure high availability and performance for our intensive data workloads. Our architecture is fundamentally cloud-agnostic and Kubernetes-native. We are building a highly portable platform designed to run anywhere, ensuring we aren't locked into a single vendor. If you are passionate about open-source infrastructure tools (like Terraform and Docker) and designing resilient, multi-cloud systems, we want you on our team. What You'll Do Cloud-Agnostic Infrastructure: Design, configure, and maintain robust, portable infrastructure across cloud environments using Terraform. Container Orchestration: Take ownership of deploying, managing, and scaling our containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring they can run seamlessly anywhere. Cloud Operations: Manage and optimize our footprint across major cloud providers while building abstractions over compute, storage, and messaging services that keep our platform portable. Pipeline Automation: Streamline and enhance our CI/CD workflows and deployment automation using tools like Make, Bash, and Kustomize. What We're Looking For A solid track record working as a DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineer. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep, demonstrated experience writing, structuring, and maintaining Terraform modules in production environments. Containerization: A strong administrative understanding of Docker and Kubernetes as universal deployment layers. Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience navigating and managing major cloud ecosystems, with a mindset geared toward multi-cloud or vendor-neutral architectures. Automation Mindset: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Make, Python) to eliminate manual toil and automate complex workflows. Core Systems Knowledge: A solid grasp of Linux server administration and cloud networking principles. Bonus Points Previous experience migrating workloads between cloud providers or building Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployment models. Previous experience working on data-intensive applications or within the cybersecurity space. .
