Job Description: Review patient medical records and clinical documentation. Identify diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and services documented by healthcare providers. Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems as applicable. Ensure coding is accurate and follows established guidelines. Review documentation for completeness and identify missing or unclear information. Maintain accuracy and productivity according to company standards. Perform quality checks and correct coding errors. Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines and healthcare regulations. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data-privacy requirements. Work effectively with the coding and healthcare operations team. Skills Required: Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Understanding of diseases, diagnoses, and medical procedures Good English communication and comprehension Analytical and attention-to-detail skills Basic computer/MS Office knowledge Willingness to learn medical coding standards Certification such as CPC/CCS is an advantage but may not be mandatory for freshers If you're applying as a GNM/B.Sc Nursing fresher and want to move into Medical Coding , the Medical Coding JD is generally the more relevant one for a non-clinical healthcare career.
