PostgreSQL DBA - Contract 6 Months (Renewal Possible)

We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL database environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, security, and production support. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL database environments.Manage production and non-production PostgreSQL databases.Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability.Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.Configure and maintain High Availability (HA) and replication solutions.Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, locking, and transaction-related issues.Manage users, roles, permissions, authentication, and database security.Perform database migrations, upgrades, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.Develop and maintain database monitoring and alerting mechanisms.Work closely with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.Participate in production deployments, incident management, and root-cause analysis.Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.Required Skills7+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and troubleshooting.Expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning and query optimization.Strong knowledge of Backup & Recovery, PITR, WAL, and replication.Experience with Streaming Replication and High Availability solutions.Knowledge of PostgreSQL upgrades, migrations, and patching.Strong understanding of database security, roles, permissions, and authentication.Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.Good understanding of SQL and database architecture.Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Strong production support and incident management experience.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Good to HaveExperience with Patroni, pgBouncer, HAProxy, or similar PostgreSQL HA technologies.Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud database environments.Knowledge of automation using Python, Bash, or Ansible.Experience with large-scale and high-volume PostgreSQL environments.Contract DetailsDuration: 6 Months Extension: Renewal possibility based on project requirements and performance Work Mode: Remote Shift: 4:00 PM 1:00 AM IST .
