This is a remote position. Overview : The Backend Developer will design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade backend services and APIs. This role will primarily focus on building scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and data-driven applications using C#, .NET, SQL, and AWS. The developer will work closely with architecture, product, data engineering, application engineering, and governance teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable backend solutions that integrate with enterprise platforms and business workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong backend development fundamentals, independent execution, clean coding practices, and the ability to build production-ready services. Foundational knowledge of LLMs and AI-enabled integrations is expected as a value-add skill to support emerging enterprise AI use cases. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services and microservices using C# and .NET Core / .NET. Build and maintain secure, well-documented RESTful APIs for internal and external enterprise applications. Develop backend components that integrate with SQL databases, enterprise systems, third-party services, and cloud-native platforms. Design and optimize database schemas, stored procedures, queries, and data access layers to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity. Implement microservices-based architecture patterns, including service-to-service communication, API gateways, resiliency, logging, and monitoring. Deploy and support backend applications on AWS using cloud-native services, containerized workloads, serverless components, or managed infrastructure. Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers, and application teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable backend solutions. Implement secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, secrets management, audit logging, and role-based access controls. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, troubleshooting, production support, and performance tuning activities. Build reusable backend components, API libraries, integration services, and common utilities to improve development efficiency. Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, and environment configuration. Integrate backend services with LLM-enabled capabilities where required, such as connecting APIs to AI services, RAG pipelines, vector databases, or LLM endpoints. Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, data flows, deployment steps, dependencies, and operational procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Strong hands-on experience developing production-grade backend applications using C# and .NET Core / .NET. Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and enterprise backend services. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, API design, and backend integration patterns. Strong SQL skills, including database design, query development, optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. Experience working with AWS cloud services and deploying applications in cloud-based environments. Experience with API security, authentication, authorization, logging, exception handling, and secure coding practices. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, automated builds, testing, and deployment processes. Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, asynchronous programming, and clean code principles. Experience troubleshooting production issues, analyzing logs, identifying performance bottlenecks, and supporting application reliability. Ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality technical solutions in an enterprise environment. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, AI service integration, or LLM-powered application workflows. Experience in integrating backend APIs with AI/LLM platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or similar services. Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation concepts, embeddings, semantic search, or vector databases such as OpenSearch, Pinecone, or pgvector. Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar technologies. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
