Reporting to the Application Support Manager, the role is the front line for resolving user issues, keeping systems running reliably, maintaining accurate data, and helping users get the most out of the ERP. Working closely with colleagues across finance, supply chain, planning, production and quality, the Engineer diagnoses and resolves incidents, supports system and data changes, assists with user training, and escalates risks or recurring problems to the Application Support Manager. Key Responsibilities Application & Incident Support Act as first and second line support for ERP and related business applications, logging, prioritising and resolving user tickets within agreed service levels (SLAs). Diagnose and troubleshoot functional and technical issues, identifying root causes and applying or recommending fixes. Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the Application Support Manager, vendors or specialist teams, and follow through to resolution. Maintain clear, accurate records of issues, resolutions and configuration changes in the support system and knowledge base. Support system monitoring, routine checks and scheduled tasks to keep applications stable and available during production hours. Data Integrity & System Maintenance Perform routine data quality checks and help maintain the accuracy, completeness and consistency of master and transactional data. Investigate and correct data discrepancies under the guidance of the Application Support Manager and business owners. Assist with controlled configuration and data changes, ensuring appropriate testing, approvals and audit trails are followed. Help maintain documentation of system setup, interfaces, procedures and known issues. User Enablement & Training Support Provide guidance and floor-walking support to help users navigate the ERP and resolve everyday queries. Assist the Application Support Manager in preparing and delivering training sessions and user-reference materials. Capture common user questions and feedback to improve documentation, training content and self-service resources. Risk Awareness & Escalation Identify and flag operational, data or system risks and recurring issues to the Application Support Manager promptly. Contribute to incident trend analysis to help prevent repeat problems. Follow IT security, access-control and audit requirements in all support activities. Support backup, recovery and business-continuity tasks for critical applications as required. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with fellow engineers, business users and the Application Support Manager to share knowledge and improve support quality. Contribute to upgrades, testing, integrations and continuous-improvement initiatives affecting the application landscape. Participate in support rotas or on-call cover as needed to maintain service across critical periods. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 2 to 3 years experience in application or IT support, ideally involving an ERP or business system; exposure to a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage. Familiarity with at least one ERP platform is desirable. Basic understanding of manufacturing business processes such as production, inventory, procurement or finance. Comfortable working with data, simple queries or reports, and support / ticketing tools. Key Skills & Competencies Problem-solving: methodical, logical approach to diagnosing and resolving issues.
