We are transforming the retail experience through cutting-edge technology by developing advanced solutions that use RFID technology and AI-enabled workflows to optimize inventory management and in-store processes. We are looking for a Senior Lead Engineer to oversee the architecture and development of RFID-driven, intelligent systems that enhance visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency across retail stores. Important Results Offer technical expertise and thought leadership to support our strategy and transformation into a world-class, AI-forward retailer Collaborate with Product teams and engineers to develop intelligent applications that enhance consumer experiences and boost revenue Communicate complex technical and AI-driven solutions in clear, business-friendly language Work with Business, Product, and IT leadership to identify challenges and opportunities for automation and agentic workflows Lead a team of engineers to design scalable solutions for tracking inventory, automating store processes, and providing real-time and predictive insights using RFID and AI About the Job Design and implement end-to-end microservices and cloud-native solutions on GCP, applying OOP principles, algorithms, data structures, DBMS/SQL, and top-tier software engineering practices Build mobile and web applications spanning multiple store touchpoints and RFID-enabled operational workflows Embed agentic AI capabilities into inventory workflows enabling autonomous decision-making, predictive insights, and intelligent process automation across store operations Integrate LLM-based tooling and AI agents into backend services to reduce manual intervention and surface proactive recommendations to store teams Conduct detailed analysis of requirements and technical environments to design high-quality, scalable solutions Manage multiple projects independently, prioritize, and handle high-pressure situations Stakeholder management with Business and IT leadership Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, architecture, and AI workflows; contribute to the team's repository of best practices and reusable solutions Guide automated and self-service solutions to decrease incident resolution times Set guidelines and governance for code reviews, branching strategy, test automation, and observability Lead and mentor other team members Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) across globally distributed teams About You 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development and 3+ years as a technical lead Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline Previous experience in retail or e-commerce domain, building solutions with cross-functional teams Exposure to AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs (Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar), or agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, or similar) is a strong plus RFID exposure preferred; experience with GCP preferred Builder mindset with a growth path toward broader architectural leadership Technology Expertise Proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, or similar; strong GCP cloud deployment experience Expertise in designing high-performing, resilient cloud-native applications and microservices with focus on NFRs Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM APIs into production systems (Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar) Familiarity with agentic orchestration patterns and workflows as applied to operational use cases Understanding of New Relic and other observability tools Integration and API Management Experience with REST APIs, async/sync communication patterns, API versioning, documentation, and monitoring Experience with event-driven systems and data streaming (Kafka, MQTT) Exposure to integration platforms such as Mulesoft, SAP PO/BTP, Boomi DevOps and CI/CD Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions Automation-first test strategy with regression-tested code delivery Cloud and Containerization Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architecture, and cloud-native messaging (Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub, IBM MQ) Test-Driven Development Experience writing test-driven code; ability to define team-wide test strategy with low-touch automation focus Database Management Hands-on with RDBMS, NoSQL, Postgres, Redis Security and Compliance In-depth knowledge of OWASP principles, authentication mechanisms, and encryption within microservices and cloud environments Collaboration and Flexibility Coordinate and track multiple deliverables across global partners .
