KEY RESPONSIBILITIES GDA / Patient Care Attendants may be responsible for: Assisting patients with daily activitiesPersonal hygiene and grooming assistanceBathing and dressing assistanceMobility and walking assistanceBed-to-chair and basic movement supportFeeding assistance as requiredHelping maintain patient comfort and cleanlinessChanging bed sheets and maintaining the patient's immediate care areaProviding companionship and emotional supportAssisting elderly, recovering and dependent patientsObserving and reporting changes in the patient's condition to the family or appropriate healthcare professionalSupporting patients during routine daily activitiesFollowing care instructions provided by healthcare professionals and the patient's familyMaintaining professional behaviour and patient privacyProviding respectful and compassionate care at all timesNote: GDAs / Patient Care Attendants are not expected to independently perform clinical procedures or activities that require a qualified nurse or medical professional.
