HIRING FOR MNC BENGALURU AND HYDERABAD Looking for immediate joiner. We are seeking hands-on Java and Kafka Migration Engineers to support the migration of on-premises Kafka integrations to AWS Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (Amazon MSK). This is an application migration role. The engineer will identify, update, test, and deploy producer and consumer changes needed to connect existing applications to the new AWS MSK environment. Responsibilities Analyze application repositories to identify Kafka producer, consumer, broker, topic, and cluster configurations.Update Kafka connection and related application configurations to repoint applications from on-premises Kafka to AWS MSK.Make minimal Java or Python code changes where required to support the migration.Work with application engineering teams to assess dependencies, implement changes, and resolve migration issues.Use Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines to build, test, validate, and deploy changes.Support integration testing, functional testing, reconciliation, and production cutover activities.Troubleshoot configuration, build, connectivity, and application-level Kafka issues.Apply repeatable migration patterns across multiple applications and codebases.Use approved AI-assisted tools, such as GitHub Copilot or internal AI platforms, to identify Kafka configurations, scan repositories, and accelerate issue resolution.Mandatory Skills 45+ years of relevant software engineering experience.Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka in an on-premises environment.Good understanding of Kafka concepts, including:Brokers and clustersTopics and partitionsProducers and consumersKafka client configurationApplication-to-Kafka integration patternsExperience with Java; ability to understand application architecture and make configuration or minimal code changes.Python experience is also acceptable for Python-based applications.Working knowledge of AWS and Amazon MSK.Understanding of hybrid connectivity, where on-premises applications connect to Kafka hosted in AWS.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Experience working with Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines.Ability to coordinate effectively with application, cloud, and engineering teams.AWS MSK Expectations Candidates should understand the purpose of Amazon MSK and the application-level changes required when migrating from on-premises Kafka to MSK. They should be familiar with migration concepts, dependencies, cutover considerations, and replication terminology such as MSK Replicator or Mirror Maker. Nice-to-Have Skills Prior experience migrating Kafka workloads to Amazon MSK.Exposure to MSK Replicator, Mirror Maker 2, Confluent Replicator, or similar replication approaches.Experience with Java and Python application ecosystems.Experience supporting legacy applications.Experience using GitHub Copilot or enterprise AI tools for repository analysis, code assistance, or troubleshooting.Exposure to broader AWS migration programmes.This is not a solution architecture or cloud platform build role. The target AWS/MSK architecture, cluster provisioning, capacity planning, replication setup, firewall configuration, and underlying connectivity are managed by the cloud engineering team.
