Store Manager

Department: Inventory / Stores Location: Shivdan House, Tapkir Galli, Budhwar Peth, Pune Experience: Minimum 5 years in Stores / Inventory Control Qualification: Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce or Engineering Working Days: Monday to Saturday Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM CTC: 5.50 6.25 LPA Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Inventory Manager to take complete ownership of inventory and stores operations across our counter and godown. The role will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring timely availability of materials, controlling inward and outward movements, minimizing dead stock, and ensuring physical stock matches system records. Key Responsibilities Manage overall inventory and stores operations , including inward, outward, transfer and stock adjustments. Verify incoming materials against Purchase Orders and invoices , including quantity, brand, model and product ratings. Prepare GRNs and immediately report shortages, damages or incorrect supplies. Ensure all material issues and dispatches are made only against approved invoices, delivery challans or issue slips. Maintain proper location and bin management across a wide range of SKUs. Maintain accurate part-wise stock records for cables, wire coils, cable drums and other electrical materials. Track serial numbers and batch details for warranty-bearing and high-value products. Set minimum/reorder levels and raise indents before stock-outs occur. Monitor open Purchase Orders and follow up until the respective GRNs are completed. Identify and control slow-moving, dead, discontinued and damaged stock . Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock verification and investigate all stock variances. Take corrective action to ensure physical stock and system stock remain accurate. Supervise the stores team and manage receiving, picking, packing, dispatch and housekeeping activities. Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts and Sales regarding GRN mismatches, invoice holds, warranty returns and urgent customer requirements. Prepare monthly inventory MIS covering stock value, availability, ageing, dead stock, stock instances and pending GRNs . Recommend liquidation or return-to-principal action for obsolete and slow-moving inventory. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in stores or inventory control. Experience in multi-SKU trading, distribution, wholesale or retail environments preferred. Previous experience supervising a stores team is mandatory. Strong knowledge of physical stock verification and inventory reconciliation. Experience with Tally or comparable inventory management systems . Good knowledge of inward, outward, transfer, adjustment, GRN and stock reporting processes. Strong Excel skills for inventory tracking and MIS preparation. Ability to independently identify stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Good understanding of reorder levels and Purchase Order follow-up. Strong organizational, coordination and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working physically in the godown and counter area , not just in a desk-based role. Must be comfortable working 6 days a week and commuting to Budhwar Peth, Pune
