The DevOps Platform Engineering team is responsible for building, operating, and evolving the core DevOps and cloud platforms that enable engineering teams across MSCI to deliver software securely, reliably, and at scale. As part of the MSCI Core DevOps team, you will contribute to the tooling, CI/CD platforms, and cloud infrastructure that power the enterprise developer workflow. This includes Azure DevOps and GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native infrastructure, and internal platforms such as the MSCI Software Catalog and Internal Developer Portal. The team defines and maintains standards, golden paths, and reusable patterns that product and engineering teams adopt to accelerate delivery while maintaining consistency, security, and compliance. As a Senior Associate DevOps Engineer, you will help design, build, operate, and support production-grade DevOps platforms, CI/CD systems, and cloud infrastructure, while enabling engineering teams through automation, documentation, and self-service capabilities. Contribute to the design, build, and operation of enterprise CI/CD platforms using Azure DevOps and GitHub, including pipelines, templates, and reusable workflows.Assist in maintaining CI/CD systems and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and operational stability.Implement and follow standards, golden paths, and best practices for CI/CD, source control, and cloud-native development.Develop and maintain automation and integrations on Azure DevOps and GitHub using APIs, webhooks, and scripts.Support the end-to-end developer workflow (SDLC), from source control and build through deployment and production support.Help design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.Collaborate with application and product teams to support adoption of platform tooling and improve developer experience.Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to platform reliability, performance, and usability.Support production platforms and tooling, including troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.Contribute to enhancements of MSCIs DevOps tooling and platforms under the guidance of senior engineers. Required Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 46 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub, including repositories and CI/CD pipelines.Solid understanding of CI/CD fundamentals, DevOps principles, and SDLC automation.Experience using Git-based source control, including branching strategies and pull request workflows.Working knowledge of Bash scripting or another language for automation and operational tasks.Experience consuming REST APIs for integrations or automation.Experience with Docker and basic familiarity with Kubernetes concepts.Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and/or GCP.Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.Willingness to participate in production support and on-call rotations.Nice to Have Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.Familiarity with tools such as Argo CD, Prometheus, or cert-manager.Experience with Python, Go, or Java.Basic familiarity with databases such as MSSQL or PostgreSQL.Exposure to developer platforms or internal tooling (e.g., Backstage).Interest in improving developer experience and platform automation. .
