Direct Tax (M&A / Transactional / Advisory) Lawyer | Tier 1 & 2 Law Firm

Role Highlights: - Direct Tax Advisory: Advise clients on direct tax matters, including domestic and international tax advisory, transaction tax, and tax structuring. - M&A; & Transaction Tax: Support mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, succession planning, and internal reorganisations from a tax perspective. - Tax Due Diligence: Conduct tax due diligence for transactions and provide risk assessments and mitigation strategies. - Structuring & Planning: Assist in structuring transactions in a tax-efficient manner, including inbound and outbound investments. - Regulatory & Compliance Advisory: Provide advice on applicable provisions under the Income Tax Act and allied tax laws. - Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with transaction teams, clients, and external advisors on deal execution and implementation. Ideal Candidate: - Associate: 13 years PQE (2021 / 2022 / 2023 batch) - Senior Associate: 46 years PQE (2019 / 2020 / 2021 batch) - Qualification: CA and/or LLB (CA mandatory for certain roles) - Prior experience in Direct Tax M&A;, Transaction Tax, and Advisory roles. - Exposure to tax due diligence and international tax is preferred. - For junior roles: strong grounding in corporate and international tax (transfer pricing experience not required). - Educational background: CA / LLB from a recognised institution. - Detail-oriented, commercially aware, and capable of working closely with transaction teams.
