Festivals From India is hiring a Deputy Director to join a cultural centre in Chennai. The Deputy Director will play a key leadership role in managing the organization's programming, operations, and stakeholder relationships. This individual will bring empathy for the arts, a creative and strategic mindset, and the ability to oversee both administrative and programmatic functions. The role involves managing budgets, leading teams, supporting partnerships, and shaping cultural programming that aligns with the cultural organization's mission. Please note: The vetting process for this role comprises 2-3 rounds of interviews and may be followed by a brief assignment. The Art X Company is hiring for this role on behalf of a Cultural Center. This is a full-time contractual position based out in Chennai. Salary band for this role is available upon request. RequirementsEssential Qualifications & Experience Postgraduate degree in Arts Management, Communications, Cultural Studies, or a related field. 8-10 years of relevant experience in cultural management, programming, or operations (ideally within the arts, non-profit, or international collaboration sectors). Prior experience managing partnerships with embassies, corporates, and cultural organisations. Experience in audience engagement and outreach programming. Familiarity with long-term strategic planning in arts institutions. Key Personal Attributes & Skills Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage budgets and oversee financial operations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Empathy for the arts, creative thinking, and cross-cultural sensitivity. Knowledge of or exposure to Korean culture is an asset. Comfortable working evenings/weekends during the cultural season. .
