Job Profile: Senior Legal Advisor Data Privacy PQE: 5+ years of Relevant Experience Job Location: Pune Practice: Corporate Commercial Practice Data Privacy & Protection We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Legal Advisor to join our Data Privacy & Protection Practice team. The ideal candidate must demonstrate deep subject matter expertise in privacy and data protection laws, with strong legal advisory, documentation, and client engagement skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, and business. Duties & Responsibilities Data Privacy Laws: Advise clients on Privacy Laws such including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), etc. Data Protection Frameworks: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive data privacy and protection frameworks for clients. Privacy Contracts: Review, draft, and negotiate data processing agreements, data transfer clauses, privacy notices, and other related documentation. Privacy Workshops: Lead and conduct privacy training programs, client awareness sessions, and internal workshops. Privacy Audits Assessments: Conduct privacy assessments/audits and provide actionable legal recommendations for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Client Engagement on Privacy Projects: Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on domestic and international data protection laws. Education & Certification Qualifications Law degree from a recognized institution. Privacy certifications such as IAPP (CIPP/E, CIPM) or DSCI certification (preferred). Must Have Qualifications 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on privacy and data protection laws. Expertise in reviewing and negotiating data privacy agreements. Prior experience in advising clients on compliance with the GDPR, the DPDPA, and related privacy laws. Excellent analytical, drafting, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality work in a dynamic environment. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards in all aspects of legal practice. .
