A solar electrical engineer designs, develops, and oversees photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems. They handle system integration, electrical calculations, grid connections, and site testing for residential, commercial, or utility-scale projects to ensure safe and efficient power generation. Key Responsibilities System Design: Create plant layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and wiring schematics. Calculations: Size solar panels, inverters, transformers, and cables. Simulations: Run energy yield and performance simulations using tools like PVsyst or AutoCAD. Grid Integration: Plan medium-voltage (MV) or high-voltage (HV) interconnections Plan medium-voltage (MV) or high-voltage (HV) interconnections and substations. Compliance: Ensure designs follow local electrical codes and safety regulations. Site Execution: Support installation, testing, and commissioning phases. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Experience: 2 to 5+ years working with power systems or renewable energy.
