Job Description: Transportation Management: Oversee and coordinate all transportation activities for import and export shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to client locations. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of logistics executives, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. Import & Export Coordination: Manage all aspects of import and export logistics, from scheduling shipments to ensuring compliance with regulatory and documentation requirements. Customs Compliance: Supervise customs clearance processes, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of all necessary documents, including tariff classifications, customs duties, and regulatory filings. Documentation Management: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate and complete import/export documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. Tariff and Duty Calculations: Take responsibility for calculating and verifying customs duties and taxes to ensure proper payment and compliance with national and international regulations. INCOTERMS Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of INCOTERMS to optimize import/export transactions, including managing risks, costs, and operational considerations. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring optimal service levels, cost control, and timely deliveries. Process Improvement: Analyze logistics processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Reporting and Analytics: Prepare reports and analyses on logistics performance, customs compliance, and cost control, providing insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in logistics and supply chain operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks. Qualification & Skills: Experience: Minimum 5-12 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a proven track record in managing import/export operations and customs compliance. Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in logistics/supply chain management is a plus. Strong Knowledge of Logistics Procedures: In-depth understanding of transportation management, customs clearance processes, tariff classifications, and international shipping regulations. Expertise in INCOTERMS: Extensive experience in applying INCOTERMS to manage shipping risks, costs, and legal obligations. Team Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of logistics professionals. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ability to manage and track complex documentation and compliance requirements. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with vendors, collaborate with internal teams, and communicate effectively with external stakeholders. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex logistics challenges. Time Management : Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Proficiency in Logistics Software: Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, TMS, WMS, etc.).
