Senior Associate Finance, Standard Costing Ops Finance

Career CategoryFinanceJob DescriptionIn this vital role, you will support the Operations Finance team, with a primary focus on standard costing execution and analysis across Amgens manufacturing network. You will work closely with global stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the endtoend standard costing process, including preparation, system updates, and validation of standard costsMaintain and update standard costs in SAP S/4Hana (including material, BOM, routing, and overhead components)Perform monthly costing-related variance analysis (standard vs actual), including PPV, usage, and overhead variancesSupport inventory accounting activities, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and rollforwardsAssist with absorption testing, excess capacity analysis, and related reportingPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory and costingSupport audit requirements, in collaboration with Cost AccountingPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Global Finance teams to resolve costing issues and data gapsSupport S/4HANA system enhancements, testing, and data validation related to costing and inventoryParticipate in continuous improvement and automation initiatives within costing and inventory processesWhat we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek is a detailoriented finance individual with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing financeHandson experience with standard costing and variance analysis in a complex manufacturing environmentExperience working with SAP (S/4HANA preferred)Fluency in EnglishPreferred Qualifications CA / CMA / CPA or MBA (Finance)Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of inventory accounting and US GAAPAdvanced Excel skills; experience with automation or reporting tools is a plusStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skillsAbility to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment. .
