This leadership role is responsible for driving documentation excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving clinical quality, reimbursement accuracy, and organizational outcomes.ResponsibilitiesLead daily Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) operations and concurrent query processesCollaborate with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), HIM, Coding, Quality, and Revenue Cycle teamsIdentify documentation improvement opportunities that impact reimbursement, quality metrics, and complianceAnalyze documentation trends and implement sustainable process improvementsEnsure compliance with ICD-10, CMS, UHDDS, and other regulatory documentation standardsImprove documentation accuracy related to Severity of Illness (SOI), Risk of Mortality (ROM), medical necessity, DRGs, and quality measuresSupport CDI staff through coaching, training, and performance managementMonitor documentation integrity related to HACs, PSIs, reimbursement, and regulatory reportingSkillsGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing5+ years of clinical nursing experience3+ years of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience2+ years of CDI leadership experienceActive Nevada RN license requiredInternational Medical Graduate (MD)5+ years of acute care experience1+ year of CDI experience2+ years of CDI leadership experienceBachelor's degree in Health Information Management or Health Information Technology4+ years of acute care coding or abstracting experience2+ years of CDI leadership experienceCandidates must possess applicable certifications, including combinations of: CCDS or CCDS-O, CDIP, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CPC-PMS-DRG and APR-DRG methodologiesICD-10 coding and reimbursement regulationsQuality metrics, core measures, and compliance standardsClinical data analysis and reportingLeadership experience within an acute care CDI programCompany OverviewMissionHires is an AI hiring platform that provides automated sourcing, screening, and recruitment services.
