WE ARE HIRING - FINANCE CONTROLLER Mumbai Reports to MD 10-15 Years Experience We are a fast-evolving, diversified business group with interests in retail, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and real estate. As we professionalise our operations and governance, we are looking for a Finance Controller who will serve as the MD's most trusted financial partner - and the financial conscience of the Group. This is a high-ownership role. You will inherit a growing, multi-entity business and be expected to bring order, rigour, and strategic clarity to its financial function. The books need to be clean. The compliance needs to be airtight. The MIS needs to inform real decisions. And the finance team needs to be built into a high-performance unit. WHAT YOU WILL OWN 01 Financial Reporting & MIS Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across all Group entities Prepare Board-level MIS with actionable business insights Develop dashboards for revenue, profitability, working capital, and cash flow Ensure timely and accurate financial statements 02 Budgeting & Business Planning Own the annual budgeting and rolling forecast process Monitor variances and recommend corrective actions in real time Support business heads with financial planning and profitability analysis Drive cost optimisation initiatives across all business units 03 Treasury & Cash Flow Manage daily cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital cycles Optimise cash conversion and maintain healthy banking relationships Oversee debt management and covenant compliance Support fundraising, project finance, and capital allocation decisions 04 Accounting, Tax & Compliance Ensure full compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and TDS Oversee direct and indirect tax strategy and filing Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and secretarial audits Maintain a zero-lapse compliance calendar across all Group entities 05 Internal Controls & Risk Establish robust internal financial controls and finance SOPs Strengthen governance frameworks - delegation of authority, approval matrices Identify and mitigate financial and business risks proactively Improve audit readiness and control quality across all business units 06 Business Finance & Strategy Evaluate capex and investment proposals with rigorous financial modelling Track project costs, margins, and return on capital Build financial models for new ventures, partnerships, and acquisitions Serve as the MD's strategic financial sounding board for growth decisions 07 Team Leadership Lead and mentor the finance, accounts, taxation, and audit teams across the Group Build a high-performance finance organisation anchored in rigour and accountability Champion ERP optimisation, process automation, and digital finance transformation WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YEAR ONE Complete financial mapping of all Group entities - P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow by business unit Unified, Board-ready MIS and financial reporting framework implemented Consolidated budgeting and forecasting process established for the next financial year Full statutory compliance across GST, Income Tax, TDS, and Companies Act - zero lapses ERP stabilised or deployed across core businesses with clean, audit-ready books Internal controls framework and approval matrix designed and implemented 3-year financial roadmap built and presented to the MD and leadership team High-performing finance team built with explicit ownership and accountability at each level KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Financial reporting accuracy and Board MIS delivery timeliness Budget variance - forecast vs. actual Statutory compliance score - zero penalties or violations Working capital and cash conversion cycle improvement Internal audit findings and resolution rate ERP adoption and finance process automation levels Cost per business unit - optimisation vs. prior year Finance team capability and retention WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Qualifications MBA (Finance) or CMA - Preferred Experience 10-15 years of progressive finance leadership experience Companies with 500 crore+ turnover preferred Sector background in retail, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or real estate Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP Track record of managing multi-entity, multi-state finance operations Experience presenting directly to boards, promoters, or MDs Technical Depth Ind AS, financial statement preparation and consolidation GST, Income Tax, TDS - filing, reconciliation, and advisory Treasury, cash flow management, and banking .
