Job Title Design Head Electrical / Mechanical Location - Pune, India Role Overview The Design Head Electrical/Mechanical will act as the Owner's technical authority for all electrical engineering aspects of a 200 MW Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant (CCPP). The role is responsible for review, validation, and approval of electrical design and engineering documents prepared by the EPC Contractor and Owner's Engineer (OE), ensuring compliance with project requirements, grid codes, statutory regulations, and best industry practices. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design Review & Governance Lead Owner-side review and approval of all electrical design deliverables from EPC and OE. Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost objectives. Act as the single-point technical authority for electrical systems across the project. Plant Electrical Systems (Generation & BOP) Review electrical systems covering: o GT & ST generators and generator transformers o Unit and station auxiliary transformers o MV & LV distribution systems o MCCs, VFDs, UPS, DC systems, emergency DGs o Lighting, earthing, lightning protection, cable systems Validate load lists, power balance, short-circuit levels, protection coordination, grounding and arc- flash studies. Switchyard, Grid Interconnection & Transmission Review and approve 225 kV switchyard and power evacuation system designs, including SLDs, layouts, protection, metering, and SAS/SCADA interfaces. Review electrical design of 225 kV transmission line, including insulation coordination, protection schemes, and grid interface requirements. Coordinate with grid utility and regulatory authorities for technical approvals and compliance. Protection, Control & Automation Review protection philosophy, relay schemes, interlocks, and coordination studies.
