About the internship: We're growing an internal data and automation platform that's now past the early 'make it work' stage and needs to become dependable at scale, jobs that run on schedule without duplicating or dropping work, data that stays correctly isolated across multiple accounts/clients, external API calls that don't silently corrupt data when they fail or get rate-limited, and analytics numbers that stay trustworthy as volume grows. We're not looking for someone who's only followed tutorials. We're looking for someone who has already run into these problems in a real project and had to think their way out. Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Build backend APIs that work correctly under concurrent usage by multiple users. 2. Build and maintain scheduled and background tasks that run reliably on time, without duplicates or missed runs. 3. Integrate with external third-party APIs and handle failures or rate-limiting gracefully. 4. Design database structures that keep different clients' or accounts' data cleanly isolated. 5. Build reports and dashboards that display accurate numbers as data volume grows. 6. Identify and fix bugs where code runs without errors but produces incorrect results. 7. Build simple internal dashboards (using React or a basic UI) for the team to monitor system activity. 8. Use AI tools such as Claude to code more efficiently, while independently verifying the logic. 9. Document how systems work clearly, to support handovers and future reference.
