EPAM Systems - AI Solution Architect - Node.js

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced AI Solution Architect with strong expertise in Node.js, enterprise application architecture, and modern AI technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable AI-powered applications and platforms using Node.js, microservices, APIs, LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and intelligent automation. Key Responsibilities: - Define end-to-end architecture for AI-powered enterprise applications using Node.js. - Design scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. - Integrate LLMs and Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications. - Design RAG-based solutions using enterprise data, documents, knowledge bases, and vector databases. - Architect AI-powered workflows, intelligent automation, and AI-agent-based solutions. - Design integrations between AI applications and enterprise systems through APIs and messaging platforms. - Evaluate LLMs, AI models, vector databases, AI frameworks, and supporting technologies. - Design prompt, context, memory, retrieval, and orchestration layers for AI applications. - Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, observable, cost-effective, and production-ready. - Lead technical architecture discussions with engineering, product, data, security, and business teams. - Define API standards, integration patterns, data flows, and application architecture. - Drive modernization and transformation of existing Node.js applications using AI capabilities. - Establish best practices for AI application development, testing, monitoring, and model evaluation. - Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies for AI and distributed-system architectures. - Mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance on Node.js, cloud, and AI architecture. Technical Skills: - Strong expertise in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. - Strong experience with Express.js, NestJS, or equivalent Node.js frameworks. - Expertise in REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems. - Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases. - Experience designing AI agents, AI workflows, or intelligent automation solutions. - Knowledge of LLM APIs, tool/function calling, prompt engineering, context management, and agent orchestration. - Experience integrating AI capabilities with enterprise applications and APIs. - Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases. - Experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices. - Understanding of AI security, data privacy, observability, performance, and cost optimization. - Experience with enterprise integration patterns and asynchronous messaging. Preferred Profile: - Strong experience in solution architecture and backend engineering. - Proven ability to design enterprise-grade Node.js and AI solutions. - Strong understanding of modern cloud-native and AI architectures. - Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. - Ability to lead technical discussions and guide engineering teams. - Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
