Software Developer / Senior Software Engineer - C, Linux & Networking Location: Chennai | Bangalore | Trivandrum (TVM) Experience: 5-8 Years About the Role We are looking for a passionate and experienced Software Developer / Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in C programming, Linux, networking protocols, and Python scripting. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, integration, and support of embedded broadband and networking solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Experience in Broadband, Wi-Fi, Routers, Gateways, Embedded Linux, and RDK-B environments will be highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software applications and system components using C on Linux platforms. Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot networking applications and services for embedded devices. Analyze and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system-level issues. Integrate third-party software components and open-source packages into existing solutions. Develop automation tools and utilities using Python for testing, troubleshooting, and log analysis. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices. Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Management, and customer-facing teams throughout the product lifecycle. Participate in feature development, software releases, debugging, and performance optimization activities. Investigate customer-reported issues and provide technical solutions. Maintain technical documentation and support engineering knowledge sharing. Required Skills & ExperienceCore Technical Skills 5-8 years of software development experience. Strong hands-on experience in C Programming. Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms. Experience in multi-threaded programming and system-level software development. Strong expertise in Linux development, debugging, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as: GDB Valgrind tcpdump Wireshark Networking Skills Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including: TCP/IP UDP DHCP DNS IPv4 / IPv6 NAT Routing & Switching Ethernet Additional Skills Hands-on experience in Python scripting and automation. Experience with test automation and log analysis. Knowledge of broadband gateways, routers, cable broadband products, and Wi-Fi technologies. Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab. Familiarity with Jira and Linux build environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with RDK-B (Reference Design Kit for Broadband). Exposure to CCSP, TR-069, WebPA. Experience with OpenWrt and Yocto build systems. Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Experience working on broadband, networking, or embedded device platforms.
