SQL Database Architect / Developer | Pune We're looking for a hands-on SQL Database Architect / Developer to own the design, performance, and reliability of our enterprise database platforms SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL (Azure), and Sybase supporting mission-critical systems across financial trading, brokerage, accounting, BI/analytics, and regulatory compliance. Why this role, and why nowWe're looking for a hands-on SQL Database Architect / Developer to own the design, performance, and reliability of our enterprise database platforms SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL (Azure), and Sybase supporting mission-critical systems across financial trading, brokerage, accounting, BI/analytics, and regulatory compliance. This isn't a pure people-management seat. You'll be deep in the architecture, the query plans, the HA/DR design, and the automation while also mentoring a team of DBAs and setting the technical direction for our DBMS Operations group. Location: Pune, India Shift: Aligned with Nashville, TN (US Central Time) business hours you'll work closely with US-based stakeholders in real time, with on-call rotation for critical incidents Reports into: Global Technology & Operations What you'll actually be doingArchitecting and tuning high-availability, disaster-recovery-ready database solutions (AlwaysOn AGs, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping) across SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure PaaS/IaaSWriting and reviewing advanced T-SQL and PowerShell for query optimization, indexing strategy, and automation of backups, patching, monitoring, and capacity managementLeading root-cause analysis on complex production issues using tools like SCOM, Foglight, and SplunkPartnering with application, infrastructure, and business teams on database design and performance at scaleGuiding cloud platform modernization and large-scale migration initiatives (Azure IaaS/PaaS)Mentoring and technically leading a team of DBAs code reviews, best practices, knowledge-sharingWhat you bring8+ years of hands-on database administration/engineering experience, with 3+ years leading or mentoring DBAs in an enterprise settingExpert-level SQL Server (AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS) plus working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SybaseAdvanced T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation and performance tuningSolid grounding in Azure database services, Windows/Linux/Solaris environmentsBonus: Delphix or other DB virtualization experience, relevant certifications (MCSE: Data Management, Azure DBA Associate, OCP) For a Leading Global Investment Management Firm Our Client is a global investment management firm serving institutions, individuals, and private wealth clients across major markets worldwide, with thousands of employees spread across dozens of countries.
