## Overview We are looking for an experienced Automation API Tester to join our banking project team. This is a hybrid role based in Chennai, where you'll work closely with development, product, and operations teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our API services. ## What You'll Be Doing You'll start by reviewing API specificationsREST, SOAP, Graph. QL, and othersalong with requirement documents to fully understand business logic and edge cases. From there, you'll design and write test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and error conditions, as well as schema and contract validation and versioning. Your day-to-day will involve developing, maintaining, and enhancing test automation scripts and frameworks for API and integration testing using tools like Rest. Assured, Postman, or Soap. UI. You'll also create and maintain test data, stubs, mocks, and service virtualization when external dependencies are unavailable or unreliable. Executing both automated and manual tests for integration and regression is a key part of the role. You'll analyze results, identify defects, log them, track them, and follow up with developers until fixes are validated. You'll ensure tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated regression and build validation. You may also perform non-functional testingperformance, load, latency, reliability, and even security testing of APIs as needed. Monitoring and reporting test metrics like coverage, pass/fail rates, defect density, test reliability, and regression times will be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration is essential: you'll work with cross-functional teams including Development, Product, and Ops/Dev. Ops to address API-related issues in scalability, security, error handling, and monitoring. ## What We're Looking For We need someone with strong expertise in Javaexperienced in writing API scripts following best practices. Proficiency in BDD/Gherkin with Cucumber is a must. You should be comfortable with API investigation and manual tools like Postman, Bruno, and Insomnia. Experience with Playwright is good to have, as UI tests may eventually move to it. You should also have experience with Ruby with Cucumber (Selenium framework) for writing and executing UI automation scripts. You need to be able to write and execute functional, regression, and smoke test cases, and have experience in peer review of test cases. Hands-on experience with test management tools is required. Experience in the banking sector is preferred. You should have experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, and a good understanding of Git. Lab for code versioning and maintenance. ## Desired Skills - Java strong coding skills, best practices for API test automation. - REST API Automation 58 years with \*\*Rest - Assured and Wiremock\*\*. - API Tools (manual/investigation): Postman, Bruno, Insomnia. - Swagger interpretation and test case derivation. - CI/CD Jenkins integration for running automation pipelines. - Version Control Git. Lab for structured code maintenance. - BDD/Gherkin with Cucumber. - Playwright (UI automation) nice-to-have. - Ruby + Cucumber (Selenium) UI automation scripting. ## Experience We require 610 years of REST API automation experience using \*\*Rest - Assured frameworks and Wiremock\*\* for mocks. This is an associate to mid-level role, ideal for someone who has deep expertise in API testing and wants to work in a collaborative, hybrid environment. .
