## Senior Medical Coder - Same Day Surgery ### Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Coder specializing in Same Day Surgery (Ambulatory Surgery) to join our team at Starworth Global Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to surgical procedures, diagnoses, and services performed in same-day or outpatient surgery settings. The ideal candidate will bring strong coding expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of surgical coding guidelines to ensure compliance, accuracy, and optimal reimbursement. ### Key Responsibilities - Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for same-day and ambulatory surgical procedures - Review operative reports, physician notes, and clinical documentation to support precise code assignment - Ensure coding compliance with official coding guidelines, payer-specific policies, and regulatory requirements - Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation deficiencies by coordinating with clinical and billing teams - Conduct regular audits of coded records to maintain quality and accuracy standards - Stay current with updates to coding systems, surgical coding guidelines, and industry best practices - Support denial management by providing coding clarifications and resubmission guidance - Mentor and guide junior coders on same-day surgery coding practices - Generate and maintain coding productivity and quality reports as required ### Requirements & Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or diploma in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field - Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent recognized coding certification - Demonstrated experience in medical coding with a focus on same-day or ambulatory surgery - Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems - Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical terminology - Familiarity with US healthcare payer guidelines and reimbursement processes - Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and coding software tools - Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and manage coding workloads within defined timelines - Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data confidentiality requirements ### About the Company Starworth Global Solutions is a healthcare business process outsourcing company focused on delivering revenue cycle management, medical coding, and healthcare IT services to clients in the US healthcare market.
