Position Summary The Supply Chain Analyst / Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities, inventory planning, and supplier relationships to ensure materials and products are available to support business operations. This role analyzes supply and demand, maintains inventory accuracy, manages purchasing activities, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize supplier performance and supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Essential Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and service performance. Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders (POs) within SAP. Monitor open purchase orders and proactively resolve delivery issues, including late, short, or damaged shipments. Coordinate with suppliers regarding lead times, forecasts, pricing, and order requirements. Resolve supplier discrepancies and maintain positive supplier relationships. Inventory & Supply Planning Maintain inventory levels that support business needs while meeting target inventory goals. Analyze demand, supply, and inventory trends to support purchasing decisions. Maintain accurate purchasing data, including lead times, pricing, and minimum order quantities (MOQs). Monitor inventory performance and recommend improvements to support operational efficiency. Collaboration & Process Improvement Partner with Operations, Finance, Sales, Planning, and other internal departments to support business objectives. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and Finance. Identify opportunities to improve procurement and supply chain processes through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Additional Responsibilities Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and service. Provide backup support to the Purchasing Manager, including approval of non-exempt employee timecards and time-off requests. Assist with training and supporting junior team members as needed. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills & Competencies Experience working within an SAP ERP environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret large data sets. Understanding of supply chain metrics, including inventory turns, service levels, and lead times. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build productive working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers. Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 25 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory planning, or a related role. Experience managing supplier relationships and purchase orders. Experience with inventory management and demand planning concepts. Preferred: Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and supply chain optimization. Physical Requirements Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to move throughout an office and manufacturing/warehouse environment as needed. Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
