Job Description: Research Scientist Engineer for Matrix formulation and its processing About the job We are seeking a highly skilled and cutting-edge Research Engineer/Scientist specializing in Matrix Formulation to join our advanced material development team. The role involves contribution to designing, developing and optimizing the thermoset resin matrices specifically for engineered prepreg manufacturing. TO have hands on experience with handling the polymer chemistry and composite processing for developing the next generation aerospace materials. Key Responsibilities Formulation and Matrix Development 1. Design and synthesize the novel matrix formulations with epoxy, BMI or cyanate esters. 2. Optimize the formulation properties like viscosity, gel time, tack, drape and its rheological behaviour for its operational efficiency. 3. Awareness and knowledge of various organic and inorganic additives, tougheners and catalyst used in prepregs for specific properties to enhance its temperature operation range, its mechanical performance, impart specific retardancy properties and reduce the cost. Characterisation and Testing 1. Qualify the matrix and prepreg as per space requirements of the products. 2. Validate the thermomechanical and thermophysical properties if the matrix for efficient understanding of resin behaviour during impregnation and cure cycle. 3. Conduct and evaluate the mechanical performance of matrix and prepreg for operating temperature range. 4. Correlate the simulated results and experimental results using the AI/ML generated data for matrix and prepreg propertiess 5. Collaborating with external laboratory to handle the testing requirements. Manufacturing and operational Support 1. Collaborate and support process engineering to transition from lab scale pilot formulations to full scale production formulation. 2. Support to trouble shooting activities in the manufacturing related to matrix chemistry such as fibre wetting, resin gelation, improper .
