Purchase Manager Wood & Furniture Industry

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet production and business requirements.Source and procure wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, hardware, adhesives, finishing materials, and other furniture manufacturing supplies.Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best pricing, quality, delivery, and payment terms.Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and develop new supplier networks.Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, warehouse, and project teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules and project deadlines.Conduct supplier performance evaluations and resolve quality or delivery issues.Analyze market trends, material costs, and availability to optimize procurement decisions.Ensure purchased materials meet company quality standards and specifications.Coordinate with Finance for invoice verification, payment processing, and cost control.Maintain accurate procurement records and generate purchasing reports.Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.56 years of purchasing experience in the wood, furniture, interior fit-out, or manufacturing industry.Strong knowledge of timber, plywood, veneers, laminates, furniture hardware, and finishing materials.Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.Required Skills Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.Strong analytical and cost-control abilities.Knowledge of inventory management and procurement planning.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost savings achieved through procurement.On-time material delivery rate.Inventory turnover and stock optimization.Supplier performance and quality compliance.Purchase order accuracy.Reduction in procurement lead time.Vendor development and contract management.Preferred Industry Experience Furniture ManufacturingWood ProcessingInterior Fit-OutModular FurnitureJoinery and Carpentry ManufacturingPay: 30,000.00 - 50,000.00 per month Benefits: Cell phone reimbursementWork Location: In person .
